Bio

Greetings! My name is Deloras Overstreet and I am a teacher of exceptional students at Lanier High School.

I have worked with special needs students for 10 years in Life Skills from PPCD through High School.  Every year I meet amazing students with big hearts and their strong will to apply self-determination goals.

My teaching philosophy is based on respecting differences, tapping into talents, and sharing my love for learning with my students. I believe we all have something to contribute and I learn so much from my students each day. I use a multi-sensory, theme based instruction in the classroom and believe in a consistent, positive and respectful approach to making lasting, meaningful behavior changes

As a personal quick note, I am a mother to four wonderful kids (13/11/9/7). I am a Texas native and love my home state, but I root for OU! The one thing you will notice about me is that I am a HUGE baseball fan. I grew up 10 minutes away from, then Arlington Stadium, home of the Texas Rangers. You can always catch me at a baseball game.

I appreciate you sharing your child with me.  I am looking forward to a fantastic 2016-2017 school year!
