Fighting Till the End

Our Vikings put up a heck of a fight last night, but came up short in a 55-48 overtime loss to Dripping Springs in the bi-district playoffs.  Seniors Martez Barron, Tajik Bartholomew, Davion Buster, Michael Coleman, Quinte Gibson, and Sammy Roach finished their senior year with a 22-win season, 4 consecutive trips to the playoffs and Lanier's first district championship in 30 years.  Please congratulate these young men on representing our school with class, toughness and pride.  They will be greatly missed, but their positive impact will remain for years to come.

Fresh off a 22- win regular season and a District Championship our Vikings are headed to the Bi-District Playoffs.  Tuesday, 2/20, the Vikings will match up with the Dripping Springs Tigers.  The game tips off at 6:00 @ Lehman High School.  Come out and show off your Viking Pride!

McCallum 88-76

Our Vikings pushed their district record to 9-1 Friday night with a 88-76 win over McCallum.  Dynamite Davey Buster broke his own scoring record with a scintillating career high 58 points.  Tajik Majik Bartholomew added another double digit scoring night with 13 points.  Colby Francis (8), and Buffalo Bandit Martez Barron (7) helped pile up the points along with a dash of Lousiana Hot Sauce from Keldrick Gorham chipping in 2 points.  Senior Night is this Friday on the Viking Ship with another big district game against Reagan.  Come out and watch the Seniors give it their all in the final home game for our soon-to-be graduates.

20 Times the Fun - Crockett 75-63

Our Vikings, armed with the dual coaching wizardry of local legends Justin Beaman and Jon Ortiz, notched win number 20 on the season with a 75-63 win over the Crockett Cougars.  I know you're thinking, "Sure, how tough can it be to take down a South Austin Cougar on a Tuesday night?"  But, my friend, that is when they are at their most ferocious.  Leading scorers Dynamite Davey Buster (35), Marine Mike Coleman (13), and Tajik Majik Bartholomew (12) all chipped in double digit scoring nights. The Buffalo Bandit Martez Barron (5), Colby Francis (5), and De'jon Swist (3) rounded out the scoring for the Viks.  Friday night the Vikings are back to defend the Ship against playoff hopeful McCallum.  Come out and catch the excitement.

LBJ 75-60

Our Vikings came up BIG Friday night in front of a standing room only crowd with a 75-60 win over L.B.J. The boys gave a tremendous effort with both their energy and focus to bring home the victory. The win puts the Viks on top of the district standing with a 6-0 record. Please congratulate team members Martez Barron, Justin Walls, De'jon Swist, Davion Buster, Michael Coleman, Quinte Gibson, Tajik Bartholomew, Keldrick Gorham, Colby Francis, Sammy Roach, and Malik Kelsey on their accomplishment. Special shoutout to our very own Justin Beaman and Jon Ortiz who provided advanced scouting aplenty, insight, and keys to victory to put the Viks over the top. Fans of the Game goes to the entire Lanier community, who came out loud and proud to create an electric atmopsphere that Statesman reporter Thomas Jones compared to a SXSW crowd. Tuesday the Viks travel to Austin High, then it's back on the Viking Ship Friday vs Travis. Come out and support this special group of young men.

Reagan 68-65
